Where beauty and peace come naturally

If you have seen “head spa” on a menu in Phuket Town and pictured a shampoo-and-blow-dry with a scalp rub attached, the version at EAZE Spa is a different thing entirely.

What you book is an Ayurvedic head massage from the Indian tradition. Almost all of the session is hands-on work with the muscles and pressure points of the head, neck, shoulders and upper back, using warm oil. It is a massage, not a hair appointment. This guide covers what Ayurveda is, why it gives the head so much attention, what happens in the room, and how to choose between the 90-minute and 120-minute session.

What the head spa at EAZE actually is

On the menu it appears as the Signature Indian Head Massage, offered at 90 minutes for 1,590 Baht or 120 minutes for 1,890 Baht.

Nearly the whole booking is massage. The therapist begins with warm oil across the back and shoulders, moves up into the neck, and then works slowly and methodically across the scalp. The wash, hair treatment and blow dry at the end are a practical courtesy rather than the purpose: they mean you walk out with dry, clean hair instead of going back to your hotel to rinse oil out yourself.

The order runs like this:

  1. Warm oil worked across the back and shoulders.
  2. Up through the neck and the base of the skull.
  3. Detailed work across the scalp and its pressure points.
  4. Hair washed to remove the oil, then a nourishing treatment applied.
  5. Blow dry, so you can go straight on with your day.

What Ayurveda is, and why the head

Ayurveda is an Indian system of self-care that goes back thousands of years. Its central idea is that the body works as one connected system rather than a set of separate parts. That is why this style of head massage does not begin at the head at all: it starts at the back and shoulders, which carry the load, and works upward from there.

The head gets particular attention because it is where mental effort and screen time tend to collect. The traditional name for this work is Shirobhyanga, which simply means massaging the head with oil. Warm oil is the medium because it lets the hands glide and adds steady warmth to the skin at the same time.

What the Ayurvedic tradition says it does

The points below are beliefs handed down within Ayurveda. They describe a tradition, not a health outcome we promise.

How it differs from an ordinary head massage

The head massage most visitors have tried in Thailand is dry work, with little or no oil, aimed squarely at loosening tight muscle, and it ends when the clock does. On our own menu that is the Head, Back & Shoulder Stress Relief, at 690 Baht for 60 minutes, 990 Baht for 90 minutes and 1,350 Baht for 120 minutes.

The difference is the thinking behind it. The Ayurvedic version keeps warm oil in play from start to finish, moves more slowly, and follows a set order of points drawn from the tradition. The everyday version goes straight for whatever is tight. Both are good; it depends on what the day calls for.

If you would rather have warm oil across the whole body than concentrated at the head, look at the Aroma Oil Massage. If desk-bound stiffness is the real problem, Office Syndrome with Herbal Compress is the closer fit.

Who books it

If you have a cut or any irritation on the scalp, mention it before the session begins so the team can adjust.

What happens from arrival

You are met with a chilled aromatic towel and the signature herbal drink. This is the moment to say what you want: how firm, where to concentrate, anywhere to avoid.

From there you move into a private room. The oil is warmed before anything starts, and the therapist works upward from the back in the order the tradition sets out. When the massage time is up, your hair is washed, the treatment goes on, and the blow dry finishes the session. Our therapists are certified by the Ministry of Public Health.

How you tend to feel afterwards

Guests most often describe their shoulders and neck as lighter than when they arrived, and a pleasant sleepiness later that evening. Your hair is dry and tidy before you leave, so you can carry on to a booking or go shopping without stopping off anywhere. Drink some water and avoid packing the rest of the day too tightly; the calm lasts longer that way.

Ninety minutes or a hundred and twenty?

Both include the full sequence. The difference is how long is spent on the massage itself.

For a different kind of long booking, Harmony of Touch runs 120 minutes at 1,890 Baht and pairs a full-body aroma oil massage with this same head sequence.

Common questions

Is a head spa the same as an Ayurvedic head massage?

At EAZE Spa, yes. “Head spa” is simply the phrase most guests search for; the session itself follows the Ayurvedic tradition.

How long does it take altogether?

Either 90 or 120 minutes, and that figure already includes the wash and blow dry.

Can men book it?

Yes. It is not gender-specific, and the pressure is adjusted to suit each guest.

What if my hair is very short or thinning?

That is no obstacle. The session is about muscle and pressure points, not hair length.

Which booking gets the discount?

Booking through the form on this website takes 10 percent off. It is separate from the monthly promotions and the two cannot be combined.
